AEG to Provide Military Transition and Veteran Recruiting Services Santa Clara, CA – November 3, 2009 — Announcing Mark Whalls formerly of KBIC Military joining forces with Marc G. Albin of Albin Engineering Services, Inc., a leader in technology solutions, recruiting & staffing, to form Albin Engineering Group, Inc. The new company, Albin Engineering Group is in the process of being certified as a Disabled-Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE). Mark Whalls will be the President of the newly formed company, Marc Albin as Chief Operating Officer, and Stephen Norred as National Director of Recruiting Services.
Bringing more that 20 years of recruiting experience to Albin Engineering, Mr. Whalls will leverage his expertise in recruitment process outsourcing, business development and building partnerships. In his role leading recruiting services for veterans and military transitions, Mr. Norred will be responsible for driving the talent side of the business and delivering the resources to clients.
Prior to joining Albin Engineering Group, Mr. Whalls was the Co-Director of the Kaye/Bassman's Military Specialty Practice. During his career, he has assisted thousands of candidates in securing meaningful employment in areas such as semiconductor, healthcare, energy, aviation, logistics, engineering, sales, project management, bio-medical, government contractors, and oil & gas. Mr. Whalls’ client companies value his exceptional service. He brings nine years of military search experience. Prior to joining Kaye/Bassman, Mr. Whalls had a successful career with one of the largest military search firms in the United States. Three months after joining the Navy in 1976, Mr. Whalls was hand-picked from a brigade of recruits for special duty aboard the USS Constitution (Old Iron Sides) in Boston, MA. Mr. Whalls served in Naval Station Guantanamo Bay Cuba, Naval Magazine Guam, USS Sacramento Bremerton, WA, Navy Recruiting District Indianapolis, IN, Navy Recruiting District Michigan, Navy Recruiting District Columbia, SC, Navy Recruiting District New England and his final tour was at Navy Recruiting Orientation Unit Pensacola, FL. He served 22 years in the United States Navy achieving the highest enlisted rank of Master Chief Petty Officer.
Stephen Norred was the Co-Director of the Kaye/Bassman's Military Specialty Practice for the last 5 years. Mr. Norred has facilitated the placement of thousands of candidates into manufacturing, logistics, engineering, sales, operations, project management, and service management, pharmaceutical sales, bio-medical, semiconductor and new home building among other many other areas. Mr. Norred contributed 22 years of active duty to the United States Navy. After graduating from Recruit Training Command in San Diego, he reported to the USS Saratoga CV 60 and the V-2 Division. He then graduated at the top of his class at the Naval Training Center Lakehurst, NJ, an ABE class “A” school. He chose Pre Commissioning duty aboard the Dwight David Eisenhower CVN 69. Mr. Norred then reported to Navy Recruiting District San Antonio and served as the Recruiter in Charge of Navy Recruiting Station Victoria, TX. He served aboard the Abraham Lincoln CVN 72 until his return from the Gulf War where he served as the Waist Cat Chief. Mr. Norred was subsequently selected as a Navy Counselor for the Career Recruiting Force Academy in Pensacola FL and then received orders to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) Boston. Mr. Norred then reported to NRD Nashville, transferring to Pensacola, FL. In just eight years, he returned to the schoolhouse as a Senior Instructor. Mr. Norred retired in 2000 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer and was quickly recruited by one of the nation's top military staffing firms. Since his retirement, he has served as a member of the Enlisted Advisory Board, a free network offering separating veterans guidance in the transition from active duty to the private sector. The United States Secretary of Labor and the United States Naval Academy recognized him for his lectures on transition. Mr. Norred and Mr. Whalls have visited and lectured at almost every major command in the United States.
